SMP AFTERCARE

Healing Period Instructions (First 7 Days)

• Avoid Touching: Avoid touching the procedure area with your fingers to prevent bacterial infection.

• Start applying A&D Ointment 24 hours after the procedure

• Apply A&D Ointment 1-2 times daily (morning and evening) using gloves.

• Stop applying after 7 days.

• No Washing for 3 Days

• After 3 days, wash the area with water only.

• Dry by blotting with a clean paper towel (avoid bath towels until day 7).

• No Shampoo for 7 Days

• Shampoo can be used on the procedure area after 7 days.

• No hair fiber or products containing AHA’s (anti-aging creams, glycolic acids, lactic acids) for 7 days.

• Avoid Certain Activities:

  • Stay out of the sun, saunas, soap, jacuzzis, and swimming pools for 7 days.

Covering the Area:

• You may cover with a loose cap or scarf, but it’s not recommended. For best results, keep the scalp uncovered for 7 days.

After 7 Days

• Sun Protection: Use “total sunblock” to prevent fading.

• Blood Donation: Do not donate blood for a full year, as the Red Cross considers SMP permanent makeup.

• Contact Your Artist: If you have any questions or concerns.

• Monitor for Allergies: If you experience itching, swelling, blistering, or complications, contact your technician. You may be allergic to the post-care products.

• Monitor for Infection: If you notice excessive redness, swelling, tenderness, red streaks, elevated temperature, or purulent drainage, contact your physician immediately as these may indicate an infection requiring medical care.
